Getting started

Deploy your AI agent on a server and get it running in under 10 minutes.

This guide walks you through deploying OpenClaw on a server. By the end, you'll have a running AI agent ready to connect to LinkedIn.

What you'll set up:

  • A server on Hostinger (~$6/month) that runs your agent 24/7
  • OpenClaw - the AI platform that powers your agent
  • BeReach - the plugin that connects your agent to LinkedIn

Time needed: about 10 minutes. Steps 1-2 are manual (buying a server, deploying). Step 3 is fully automatic - one click installs BeReach, configures your AI, and verifies everything.

How it works

OpenClaw is an AI platform that runs on a server you control. Unlike ChatGPT, which you open in your browser and close when you're done, OpenClaw runs continuously - it can search LinkedIn, send messages, and manage campaigns while you're offline.

BeReach is the plugin that gives OpenClaw the ability to act on LinkedIn. Without it, your agent is smart but can't do anything on LinkedIn.

Everything runs on a server, not your computer

Your agent runs on a Hostinger server 24/7. You access it through a web chat - similar to ChatGPT, but it keeps working after you close the tab.

Heads up: OpenClaw can cost up to 10x more than BeReach Agent if you are not technical

OpenClaw gives you a fully self-hosted agent with raw access to your AI provider - this is powerful, but you are the one paying the LLM bill directly, and the defaults are not optimized for cost.

In our experience, non-technical users routinely see monthly LLM spend 5-10x higher than what the same workload costs on BeReach Agent (the Chrome extension, no server required), because tuning token consumption (model choice, prompt caching, context size, task limits) requires real technical skill.

Before you commit:

  • If you are not comfortable editing configs, reading logs, and reasoning about tokens and caching, start with BeReach Agent - runs in Chrome, no VPS, billing is predictable and optimizations are built in.
  • If you still want OpenClaw, read the LLM cost comparison first and set a hard monthly cap on your AI provider before connecting it.
  • Expect to spend time tuning models and settings. A badly configured OpenClaw on a premium model can burn through $100+ in a single day.

Step 1 - Get a server on Hostinger

Your agent needs a server to run on. Hostinger offers affordable VPS (virtual private servers) with one-click deployment.

  1. Go to hostinger.fr (20% off with this link)
  2. Choose a VPS plan - KVM 2 or higher (starting at ~$6/month)

Pick a VPS plan, not the 1-click OpenClaw offer

Hostinger also sells a managed "1-click OpenClaw" product that is not a VPS. It looks simpler, but you won't have full SSH access or the ability to install and update BeReach properly. For a smooth installation and ongoing maintenance, you need an actual VPS plan (KVM 2 or higher).

Step 2 - Deploy OpenClaw

After purchasing your Hostinger VPS, the setup wizard guides you through deploying OpenClaw automatically. Follow the on-screen steps - when it asks for an AI API key, leave it empty for now. You'll set up your AI model in the next step.

Wait about 1-2 minutes for the container to start.

You need to install Traefik first - it handles secure connections for your server.

Go back to the 1-click deploy menu, search for "Traefik", and deploy it. Once Traefik is running, restart your OpenClaw container.

Step 3 - Install and configure BeReach

This is the automatic part. One click installs the BeReach plugin, sets your API key, configures your AI model, and runs a full health check to verify everything works.

You'll need an AI API key first - see Choose your AI if you don't have one yet.

Open your chat

Once setup is complete, go to chat.bereach.ai or open your OpenClaw URL directly (shown in the Hostinger dashboard). It will ask for your gateway token - this is the password to access the chat.

Finding your gateway token

In your Hostinger dashboard, go to VPS then Manage. Click the Gateway token button at the top of the overview page.

Send your agent a message to test:

What can you learn from my LinkedIn profile?

If it responds with your LinkedIn data, you're all set. Tell your agent who you want to reach and it will create your first campaign. See the lead generation guide for strategy ideas.
