Do I need to install or host anything?

No. The server is hosted and kept up to date, so there is nothing to clone, install or keep running.

Can it send invitations or messages without me?

No. Every invitation and message is a draft until you approve it.

How is it different from the Claude connector?

It is the same server. The Claude connector page shows how to add it to Claude and what to ask once it is there.
