The fastest way to save time on LinkedIn in 2026 is an AI agent in your own browser. It reads profiles, drafts notes and messages, and works with your own sign-in. In Claude, or in ChatGPT with its Chrome plugin, you decide how much it does on its own. It also runs on an AI plan you may already pay for.
People already use AI this way for email, documents and research. In 2024, 75% of knowledge workers used AI at work, and 78% of them brought their own tools. [13] Below, seven ways are compared on two facts you can check, for three jobs.
Three LinkedIn jobs worth handing off
Three jobs take most of the time people spend on LinkedIn for work. Each one has a preparing half and a pressing half.
- Connection requests. Preparing means choosing who to invite and writing the note. Pressing means clicking Connect.
- Messages. Preparing means reading the person's profile and recent posts, then drafting a first message or a reply. Pressing means clicking Send.
- Your profile. Preparing means rewriting your headline, About section and experience. Pressing means clicking Save.
The preparing half is where AI saves the most time. The pressing half is yours to keep or to hand off.
LinkedIn automation: seven ways side by side
Every method below answers two questions: where does the work run, and who presses send. Prices were read on each vendor's own page on 22 October 2026. What each one costs over a year at one, two and five accounts is in what these tools cost each month.
| Method | Where it runs | Who presses send | Starting cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| By hand | Your screen | You | Free |
| LinkedIn's own AI | You, after an AI draft | A paid Premium or Sales Navigator plan | |
| Browser extension (Waalaxy) | A vendor server, set up from an extension | The tool, on a schedule | €19 a user a month, as displayed [8] |
| Cloud tool (HeyReach) | Vendor servers | The tool, on a schedule | $79 a sender a month, billed monthly [10] |
| API wrapper (Unipile) | Vendor API plus your code | Your code | €49 a month minimum, up to 10 accounts [11] |
| Scripts, RPA, n8n | Your workflow server | Your workflow | €20 a month billed annually, or self-hosted [12] |
| AI agent in your browser (Claude in Chrome) | Your browser, on your screen | You or the agent, your choice | $20 a month billed monthly [7] |
Another way to get the same result as the last row is a connector your AI app launches on your own computer, covered further down. It costs nothing extra when it is open source.
What each method does for the three jobs:
| Method | Connection requests | Messages | Your profile |
|---|---|---|---|
| By hand | Yes, slow | Yes, slow | Yes |
| LinkedIn's own AI | By hand | Drafts the first message | Drafts headline, About, experience |
| Extension or cloud tool | Sends in sequences | Sends in sequences | No |
| API wrapper | Your code decides | Your code decides | No |
| Scripts, RPA, n8n | Your workflow decides | Your workflow decides | No |
| AI agent in your browser | Writes and sends, as you choose | Drafts and sends, as you choose | Rewrites, you save |
LinkedIn's own AI drafts, and you send
LinkedIn already sells AI for two of the three jobs.
For your profile, Profile Writing Assistance suggests text for your "Headline, About, or the Experience section". It is "available only to a select group of LinkedIn Premium subscribers", and you edit the suggestion before you save. [2]
For messages, Sales Navigator's Message Assist drafts a first InMail from the lead's data and your offer. It works "one lead at a time", up to "50 AI-assisted messages per month", on the Advanced and Advanced Plus plans. [3]
For recruiters, LinkedIn calls its Hiring Assistant "LinkedIn's first AI agent for recruiters", available worldwide in English since September 2025. [5]
LinkedIn's AI saves time on the writing, one draft at a time. That suits a few people a week.
Extensions and cloud tools run on a schedule
Extensions and cloud tools are built for sequences that keep running while you do something else.
The line between the two has mostly gone. Waalaxy began as a Chrome extension. Its help article now says "Waalaxy Cloud works by launching your LinkedIn account on a server", and actions keep going "as soon as you turn off your computer or close Chrome". Cloud is always on with its Advanced and Business plans. [9]
Waalaxy's pricing page shows Pro at €19, Advanced at €49 and Business at €69 a user a month, with 300 to 800 invitations a month, and quarterly and yearly discounts on top. [8]
HeyReach is cloud from the start. A "sender" is "a LinkedIn account that you add to your organization". Growth costs $79 a sender a month billed monthly, or $63 billed yearly. Agency is $999 a month for 25 senders, billed monthly. [10]
To work outside the browser entirely, see LinkedIn outreach without a browser extension.
API wrappers and scripts are for builders
API wrappers and scripts give you a LinkedIn account you can program.
Unipile bills "per connected account", from €49 a month for up to 10 accounts, paid every 30 days. Its LinkedIn actions include sending invitations and InMail. [11] n8n's Starter plan is €20 a month billed annually for 2,500 workflow executions, and a self-hosted version is on GitHub. [12]
These suit a team that already writes code and wants LinkedIn steps inside a larger workflow. A worked example is in our n8n workflow for LinkedIn outreach. You decide in your own workflow how much runs on its own.
Connection requests and messages, written for each person
For invitations and messages, AI saves the most time on the reading and the writing. Open the profile, read the last few posts, write a note about something real: an AI agent does that in seconds, for every person on your list.
A personal note also helps with the limits. LinkedIn caps invitations without publishing a weekly number, and when you reach the cap, the pause "typically lasts one week." Free members can add a personal note to "five connection requests per month"; Premium members have no such cap. [1] The full picture is in LinkedIn connection request limits.

Describe my marketYour profile, rewritten with AI
Your profile is the easiest of the three jobs to hand to AI, because you are editing your own page.
An agent in your browser can open your profile, read it next to the profiles of people you want to reach, and propose a headline, an About section and sharper experience lines. You keep what sounds like you and press Save. It is the same flow as LinkedIn's own Profile Writing Assistance, without being in the Premium group that has it. [2]
An AI agent in your own browser
An AI agent in your browser works on the page you are looking at, with your own sign-in. You decide how much it does on its own.
Anthropic made Claude in Chrome generally available on 26 August 2026, "on every paid Claude plan". It can read the page you are on and act on it, including "reading and typing text, clicking links, navigating between pages, and filling out forms". [6] Claude Pro costs $20 a month billed monthly, or $17 a month billed annually ($200 up front), with Claude in Chrome included. [7]
The side panel offers two modes: "Automatically approve" lets the agent work through the steps on its own, and "Manually approve" shows you each step first. The panel remembers your choice. [4]
A good session looks like this:
- Open the list of people you want to reach, in a normal LinkedIn tab.
- Ask the agent to open the first profile, read the recent activity and draft a connection note or a first message.
- Change what you like, then send it, or let the agent send it.
- Move to the next person.
This is how people already work. Microsoft and LinkedIn's 2024 Work Trend Index, a survey of 31,000 people in 31 markets, also saw a 142x rise in LinkedIn members adding AI skills to their profiles. [13]
ChatGPT offers the same kind of agent. OpenAI set 9 August 2026 as the date to close its ChatGPT Atlas browser, and moved its agent features into the ChatGPT desktop app and a Chrome plugin. [14]
A local connector your AI app calls
Another way to get the same result, simpler to set up: a connector your AI app launches on your own computer, which you talk to from the chat.
These connectors use the Model Context Protocol, an open standard for plugging tools into AI apps. In its local mode, "The client launches the MCP server as a subprocess" on your machine. [15] You ask in plain words, the app calls the connector, and the work happens in the same chat.
One open-source LinkedIn connector with about 4,000 GitHub stars runs this way on your own computer. [16] More options are in our guide to a LinkedIn MCP server for Claude.
There is no tab to watch, and the connector only runs when your AI app calls it.
Which way fits your week
Pick by how many people you write to and how much you want done for you.
- A few people a week. LinkedIn's own AI, or an agent in your browser. It drafts in seconds, and you send.
- A daily habit. The browser agent or a local connector, working through your list. You decide how much it does on its own.
- A team running sequences across many accounts. Cloud tools and APIs are built for this. Compare where they run and who presses send, then the price.
- A builder. An API wrapper or n8n, with the steps you choose.
Every row starts with the same two things: the right people, and a first message worth reading. That is what BeReach does. Describe who you want to reach, and our B2B lead finder finds the right people from public data and drafts a first message for each one from what they have been doing. You spend your time on the conversations.
Frequently asked questions
Can Claude send LinkedIn messages?
Yes. Claude in Chrome can type a message and click Send in a LinkedIn tab you have open, with your own sign-in. You choose whether it asks before each step or works on its own.
What is the best LinkedIn automation tool?
It depends on how much you want done for you. For a person writing to a few people a day, LinkedIn's own AI or a browser agent like Claude in Chrome saves hours for the price of an AI plan. For teams running sequences, cloud tools run from €19 a user a month on Waalaxy's displayed price to $79 a sender a month, billed monthly, on HeyReach.
Can AI optimize my LinkedIn profile?
Yes. LinkedIn's own Profile Writing Assistance rewrites your headline, About and experience for a select group of Premium subscribers. Any AI assistant can draft the same sections from your current profile and a short description of who you want to reach. You paste, edit and save.
Can I automate LinkedIn connection requests?
Yes. Cloud tools send them on a schedule, and an AI agent in your browser can write and send each one for you. LinkedIn caps invitations without publishing a weekly number, and reaching the cap pauses them for about a week, so a personal note on each request makes every invitation count.
Do LinkedIn automation tools need a browser extension?
Not anymore, in most cases. Waalaxy's Advanced and Business plans run from its servers even with your computer off, cloud tools like HeyReach never needed one, and API wrappers work from code. An AI agent such as Claude in Chrome is itself an extension, which is why it works on the page you see.
